Falling Into God’s Grace

A man climbed a mountain until night came and it was dark. Suddenly he slipped over the edge of a cliff. As he was falling he thought he was about to die. Luckily, his rope caught him and there he hung, off the side of the mountain. In his panic, he cried out to God for help. God said, ‘If you have faith, cut the rope and let go.’ The next day the rescue team found the man hanging tightly to a rope two feet off the ground, frozen to death.

There are things that happen in life that we don’t understand why… why does your loved one have to suffer from that illness? …why is that promotion so impossible to achieve? … why did your heart had to get broken? … why do you have to get buried in debt?

Sis. Mara Relova revealed some truths about problems and trials in her talk “Catch Me I’m Falling”.  She pointed out that no one is exempted from pain and suffering. All experiences God allows to happen for us to grow. Since we have no control over what can happen, we can choose to control how we look at what happens. The situation you are in can be a problem or it can be a possible future blessing, depending on how you choose to see it.

Trials can be a way for God to draw us closer to Himself. When trials happen, more often than not, that is when we remember God and seek Him. Many of us joined community because of a sad experience that was too heavy for us to bear. We knew only God can lift up our burdens.

Like the saying that gold is tested in fire, when we undergo trials our faith, character, obedience, love and loyalty are tested. Life is a test, but there’s no need to worry if we fail because God actually wants us to pass the test in our lives. God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Every situation has a reason. We are where we are right now because there is a reason. Trust that where you are now is where God wants you to be. If He wants your situation to change, He will make it happen!

God knows you’ll fall. But He is there to catch you. Don’t give up. Your miracle is on its way.
